My office is closely monitoring the Morgan Creek Fire and other wildfires in Colorado and the West. I have been meeting with firefighters and community stakeholders throughout the Third Congressional District to offer support and hear their concerns.

Joe Biden proved that he doesn’t care at all about rural communities when he nominated proven ecoterrorist, Tracy Stone-Manning, to lead the Bureau of Land Management. She is a radicalized extremist who believes that babies are a cancer to the earth, that ranchers are destroying the West, that land management decisions are best made by bureaucrats in D.C., and that using violent tactics like tree spiking is justified in the name of environmentalism. Her criminal involvement in ecoterrorist activities is so extreme that even Obama’s Bureau of Land Management director called on Biden to withdraw her nomination. America does not negotiate with terrorists who’ve been investigated by the FBI, and it certainly shouldn’t appoint one to lead a federal agency.

There is an ongoing humanitarian crisis at our southern border, but Biden is negligent to enforce the laws and uphold his duty under Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” Instead of trying to fix things, the Biden regime has actively made the situation worse by terminating the remain in Mexico policy and implementing measures that incentivize illegal immigration such as amnesty and catch and release. President Biden has facilitated this crisis by not enforcing the Immigration and Nationality Act, which requires the President to detain illegal aliens and enforce border security measures.

I ran on a platform of bringing real change to Congress, and I've done exactly that. Instead of going to meetings with lobbyists, I'm spending time in the District. Instead of leading from behind, I'm ahead of the curve working for bi-partisan solutions for rural Colorado. Instead of selling out, I'm going all in to stand up for you.

During this week’s Natural Resources Committee markup, I introduced two amendments that passed unanimously with broad bipartisan support. The amendments promote responsible all-of-the-above energy development and encourage scientific active forest management to strategically protect critical infrastructure like power lines from catastrophic wildfires. One of my amendments directs the government to study the environmental impact of green energy disposal to protect our groundwater from toxic chemicals found in solar panels and batteries.

I couldn’t let President Biden get away with not mentioning the crisis he created at the Southern Border during his address to Congress, so I forced the media to cover it by wearing the same kind of Mylar blanket that the Biden administration is giving to the record-setting 18,000 unaccompanied minors that came over the border last month. When children are sleeping in tin foil blankets, that’s a crisis.

President Biden took away the American people’s voice when—with the stroke of a pen—he unilaterally locked up our federal lands and targeted our energy jobs. Now, Speaker Pelosi is continuing to silence Americans by refusing to bring my bill, the Protecting American Energy Jobs Act, to the House Floor for a vote.

I’ve missed Colorado from the moment I arrived in Washington this Tuesday, but I am so glad to be here stepping up to defend our state from career politicians and bureaucrats who don’t understand our values or our way of life.

This was a special week, since my entire team, including my Washington D.C. staff, traveled with me throughout the District to hear directly from the people that we are all blessed to serve. We are happy warriors and are honored to be your voice in Congress, advocating for you before federal agencies and creating solutions for the unique challenges rural Colorado faces. Every member of my team shares my deep love for Colorado and a sincere commitment to public service. If we can ever do anything for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Happy Easter! "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” I welcome the hope of the Easter season, and I pray blessings on you and your family.
