One of the greatest honors of my job is the opportunity to assist brave veterans across Colorado and hear their stories about stepping up to serve their fellow Americans. Recently, my office was contacted by a local Colorado veteran who wanted to answer the call of service and reenlist in the Navy. He was honorably discharged due to medical issues, but he eventually became healthy again and desired to reenlist. Even though his doctor medically cleared him, the Navy initially denied his reenlistment and found him medically disqualified. He then contacted my office for help.

I cosponsored the Protecting Financial Privacy Act to prohibit the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from accessing and monitoring Americans’ bank transactions above $600.

With all the crises America faces, from Afghanistan to the invasion at our southern border, Nancy Pelosi and radical House Democrats passed the so-called “Women’s Health Protection Act” to codify Roe v. Wade and legalize the on-demand murder of preborn children across the country. I was proud to join Students for Life of America in fighting against this radical bill.

This past weekend, I reflected on twenty years since the events of 9/11/01. While 9/11 was a day of unspeakable tragedy, we also saw unparalleled heroism, with firefighters and police officers running towards danger. On 9/11, we were attacked, and instead of letting the fear polarize our country, we came together with record-breaking numbers of Americans volunteering to give blood, and with thousands of Americans stepping forward to serve our country in our Armed Forces.

Americans across the country are horrified by the tragedy in Afghanistan. Instead of leading the country through this crisis, Joe Biden lied to the American people, lied to our Afghan allies, and cared more about optics than saving lives. On August 31, a partial transcript of Biden’s phone call with Afghan President Ghani was leaked to the press. In the phone call, Biden pressured the Afghan President to “project a different picture” “whether it is true or not” to “change perception.” Furthermore, Biden promised President Ghani that he would provide air support to the Afghan military. Biden broke his promise, and the Afghan military suffered defeat in only a matter of days.

Tragically, 13 U.S. Servicemembers died in the terrorist attack on August 26th at the Kabul Airport. May God bless their families, and may they know that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. Our weak Commander-In-Chief invited bad actors to attack those donning the stars and stripes, a symbol that has long been known throughout the world to stand for freedom and strength. The Biden regime’s lack of leadership has fueled terrorists to grow in strength and numbers.

am grateful to all the contractors and CDOT employees working around the clock to reopen this critical artery for Western Colorado and the West. Having an opportunity to see this catastrophic disaster firsthand has reinforced the severity of this event and the need for long-term resiliency. I will continue leading the charge to get I-70 fully reopened while collaborating with regional stakeholders to find viable solutions moving forward.

Since day one in Congress, I have fought hard to ensure that the Bureau of Land Management headquarters remains in Grand Junction. I joined Governor Jared Polis, Colorado Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper, Congressman Joe Neguse, and local stakeholders in a bipartisan roundtable urging Secretary Haaland to keep the Bureau’s headquarters where it belongs: near the people.
