Thank you for your service and for the work your teams do to keep American airspace and American communities safe. We Back the Blue. We always have. First responders who run toward danger deserve the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively and return home to their families each night. On that, I believe we agree.

I am writing to raise serious concerns about the safety and growing volume of agricultural products imported into the United States, particularly fresh produce from Mexico and other foreign countries. American consumers should not have to question whether the fruits and vegetables they purchase were grown, harvested, packed, or transported under conditions that meet the standards required of American producers.

Affordability is what families are talking about around the kitchen table. Affordability and people’s wallets have been hit for many years by events they do not control such as the 2008 financial crisis, COVID, China trade, and a ballooning national debt, to name a few. The people at home in the heartland are the ones paying the price. Congress has worked with the White House to lower taxes in the 119th Congress, including passage of H.R. 1, the Working Families Tax Cuts law. That was an important step. We need to take another to help families.
