Affordability is what families are talking about around the kitchen table. Affordability and people’s wallets have been hit for many years by events they do not control such as the 2008 financial crisis, COVID, China trade, and a ballooning national debt, to name a few. The people at home in the heartland are the ones paying the price. Congress has worked with the White House to lower taxes in the 119th Congress, including passage of H.R. 1, the Working Families Tax Cuts law. That was an important step. We need to take another to help families.
