I promised my voters that I would deliver real solutions to the problems they’re facing, and today, the House passed two of my bills and an additional amendment as a part of H.R. 1. My bills will lower energy costs and streamline the process for critical infrastructure projects. Promises made, promises kept. These bills will provide certainty for responsible energy production and transportation while preventing frivolous litigation, all in an effort to make America energy independent once again, reduce gas prices for Coloradans, and allow important infrastructure projects to get done.

My two amendments to H.R. 1 represent the interests of rural Colorado by condemning leftists who killed the Jordan Cove Pipeline and by streamlining critical infrastructure permitting. We need an America first energy policy now, and I am proud that my amendments and two of my bills, the 90-Day Review Act and the American Energy Act, will be included in H.R. 1.

Frivolous litigation should not be a hurdle to critical infrastructure projects that will improve the lives of Americans across the country. For far too long, we have put trial lawyers’ interests ahead of the American people. Burdensome litigation causes our hardworking men and women to sit idle on jobsites as they wait on court processes. This bill will unleash American workers to reach their full potential as they build roads, bridges, railways, and other critical infrastructure projects right here in America.

Water Hearing
March 28, 2023
Andy Mueller’s expert testimony showed that the biggest problem water managers are facing on the ground are wildfire prevention, active forest management, and water storage. 80% of Colorado residents rely on our forests, the majority of which are federally owned, for their municipal supplies and as a critical source of water. Andy made clear that actively managing our forests results in improved water quality and helps provide clean drinking water and other significant health benefits for our communities.

People in the Denver suburbs don’t understand wolf attacks. They see filtered images through the media of cute little wolf pups. But in reality, wolf attacks are gruesome. I have received many letters from families, farmers, and ranchers across Colorado who have reached out to my office since they have nowhere else to turn. I am committed to being rural Colorado’s voice in Congress and finding appropriate management solutions. Gray wolves are fully recovered, should be delisted in the lower 48, and should be managed by states.

Two of Congresswoman Lauren Boebert’s amendments to the Parents Bill of Rights passed the House with unanimous bipartisan consent. The first amendment requires schools to notify parents if biological males are permitted to participate in women’s sports. The second amendment requires schools to notify parents if biological males are permitted to use women’s restrooms.

Dolores River

The bipartisan Dolores River National Conservation Area and Special Management Area Act is the gold standard for public lands bills as it protects traditional uses and was written from the ground up by a bipartisan coalition of local stakeholders. So many other public lands bills in Congress trample on the rights and liberties of the American people, but this legislation is good for conservation, good for private property rights, and good for local communities. I thank Senator Bennet, Commissioner Cooper, Chairman Heart, and all the amazing people in Southwest Colorado who put their heart into this effort and played an important role in building this coalition.

America’s energy problems are self-inflicted wounds caused by the Biden administration. We can responsibly develop our natural resources to bring energy prices down immediately, but Biden’s army of bureaucrats would rather stonewall energy permit applications. I am grateful that my American Energy Act was included in the TAPP American Resources Act that passed the House Committee on Natural Resources today. This commonsense legislation will streamline the energy permitting process, encourage responsible energy production, and bring down gas prices by providing certainty for energy producers.
