Getting Things Done

During my short tenure, I have been one of the most effective legislators in Congress. My Pueblo Jobs Act that was signed into law will create at least 1,000 new Colorado jobs. I also passed 75 legislative appropriations initiatives into law. 10 of my Community Project Funding requests signed into law secured over $20 million for important water and infrastructure projects in Colorado. I also passed eight bills, 78 amendments, and 202 legislative appropriations initiatives through the House.

- My Pueblo Jobs Act was signed into law as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This bill will create at least 1,000 new Colorado jobs.

- My Clifton Opportunities Now for Vibrant Economic Yields (CONVEY) Act passed the House as a standalone bill with bipartisan support and directs the Bureau of Land Management to convey over 31 acres to Mesa County for new economic development in Clifton.

- I played a key role in securing Glenwood Springs $51.4 million for the South Bridge project. This includes a nearly $49.68 million grant that I wrote the Department of Transportation in support of three years in a row and a $1.4 million Community Project Funding request that I personally secured that also helped pave the way for the larger grant funding. This project will establish a new bridge connection that will provide a critical second access point between State Highway 82 and the western side of the Roaring Fork River in the south corridor of Glenwood Springs.

- I passed 11 amendments through the House with bipartisan support to increase funding for veterans’ care by $23,000,000.00 by redirecting funds from the bureaucracy to funding for veterans.

- My Restoring American Energy Dominance Act passed the House as a standalone bill with bipartisan support and blocks the Bureau of Land Management’s proposed Fluid Mineral Leases and Leasing Process rule to protect domestic energy producers from excessive costs and regulations put forth by the Biden Regime.

- My Colorado Energy Prosperity Act passed the House as part of the Interior Appropriations Bill for FY24 and prohibits the Bureau of Land Management from locking up 1.6 million acres of land in Colorado from responsible oil and gas production.

- My Upper Colorado and San Juan River Basins Endangered Fish Recovery Programs Reauthorization Act passed the House Natural Resources Committee and safeguards four endangered fish species while providing long-term certainty for 2,500 water and power users that benefit from the program.

- My Trust the Science Act, which delists the gray wolf from the Endangered Species List and allows state management of this species to protect farmers and ranchers’ livestock, passed the House as part of the Interior Appropriations Bill and also passed the House of Representatives as a standalone bill with bipartisan support.

- My Western Water Accelerated Revenue Repayment Act passed the House Committee on Natural Resources and permanently authorized a provision that allows agriculture and municipal water users to prepay infrastructure costs they owe the federal government, generate hundreds of millions for new water infrastructure and water storage, and decrease federal paperwork requirements and operating costs for water users.

- Two of my bills passed the House as part of H.R.1, the Lower Energy Costs Act. The first is my 90-Day Review Act, which shortens the length of time from 150 days to 90 days that an opposition party can file frivolous litigation to try and block a major infrastructure project.

And the second bill is my American Energy Act,which cuts red tape to unleash American energy, streamlines the energy permitting process, reduces gas prices, and eliminates frivolous lawsuits threatening American energy independence.

- I secured $279.26 million into federal law for Bureau of Reclamation projects and rural water projects, including the Arkansas Valley Conduit that will provide an abundant supply of clean water for 50,000 people in Southeastern Colorado.
- I secured $5,000,000 to help fund construction of the Wolf Creek Reservoir. This important project will create 400,000 acre-feet of new water storage, generate $535 million in local spending, and create 360 new jobs. The project will provide a critical water supply, as well as protect and stimulate rural development, including agriculture, for present and future water users. It will also foster new employment, income, business generation, and tax revenues to Northwest Colorado.
- I secured $2,053,000 for the Town of Silt water treatment plant improvement project that will improve the water capacity and quality of drinking water in Silt.
- I secured $1,750,000 for a new water treatment plant to treat and supply clean water to the City of Gunnison.
- I secured $1,576,000 for the Huerfano County Water Storage Project which will be used to fortify the bank of Sheep Mountain Reservoir in Walsenburg and increase available water storage in Huerfano County.
- I secured $1,500,000 for the Cottonwood Pass Blue Hill Project. I-70 through Glenwood Canyon has a high probability of frequent closures due to rockslides and mudslides because of the Grizzly Creek Fire in 2020. These closures have a lasting effect on tourism and local businesses and negatively impact the rural economy. With improvements, Blue Hill will be the safest way for motorists to access Cottonwood Pass and will help prevent a 6-hour detour through northern Colorado when I-70 shuts down.
- I secured $2,200,000 for the City of Craig to construct new water distribution infrastructure for providing potable water and fire flows to the Craig-Moffat County Airport, parks and recreational assets, or residential and industrial development and growth on the south side of the Yampa River.
- I secured $1,547,000 for an important new road and intersection project in Bayfield at the intersection of US Highway 160 and East Bayfield Parkway.
- I secured $1,000,000 for an important construction project on the Medal of Honor Boulevard in Pueblo that will reduce commuter times, improve public safety, and help economic growth in Pueblo West.
- I secured $2,000,000 for the construction of a new interchange on the I-70 at 29 Road in Grand Junction.
- When I-70 was shut down for 16.5 days following a catastrophic mudslide, I led Colorado’s bipartisan congressional delegation in immediately securing $11.6 million, and helped secure over $125 million to reopen and repair I-70.
- I passed a provision into law that provided $28.44 billion for the Highway Trust Fund to improve infrastructure in rural America.
- I passed a provision into law that provided $30.7 million for technical assistance for Wastewater Treatment Works assistance grants. The program provides technical assistance for all communities so they can secure the funding they need for important infrastructure improvements and wastewater system operations. Specifically, technical assistance can be provided to assist communities with applications for federal funding, quality water infrastructure, and reliable water services in partnership with drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities and local government.
- I passed a provision into law that provided $25.5 million for technical assistance for Wastewater Treatment Works rural clean water technical assistance grants. The program provides technical assistance to small and rural communities so they can secure the funding they need for important infrastructure improvements and wastewater system operations. Technical assistance can include accessing funding, circuit-rider and multi-state regional technical assistance programs, training and site visits, online webinars, and technical assistance to diagnose and trouble-shoot wastewater system operations and Clean Water Act compliance-related problems and to identify potential solutions.
- In multiple legislative provisions signed into law, I secured $3 million into federal law to compensate ranchers who had their livestock killed by wolves.
- I delivered a win for farmers and ranchers by providing regulatory relief from overreaching regulations targeting livestock haulers through a legislative rider signed into law.
- In multiple legislative provisions signed into law, I secured $1.55 billion for the Payment In Lieu of Taxes (PILT) Program, which provide critical revenues for rural communities and local governments to carry out vital services including firefighting, road and bridge maintenance, education, school construction, law enforcement, and search and-rescue operations.
- My legislative provision prohibiting listing the greater sage-grouse as an endangered species and locking up more of our Colorado lands was signed into law.
- I passed a statutory provision into law directing the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of the Interior to establish a pilot program to combat salt cedar and Russian olive infestations in the West. Invasive salt cedars can consume 200 gallons of water per day per plant.
- I passed eight amendments through the House for ranchers and farmers including one to help reduce specialty crop pests.
- I passed two amendments and voted for legislation to ensure parents have a say in education curriculum being taught to their children.
- I played a pivotal role in keeping the Space Command headquarters in Colorado.
- I helped secure a $5,109,735 grant for the Pueblo Community Health Center.
- In multiple legislative provisions signed into law, I secured $5.49 billion for Community Health Centers that provide medical care to rural communities. Colorado's Third District has eight Community Health Centers.
- In multiple legislative provisions signed into law, I secured $98 million for the U.S. Forest Service to actively manage our forests and address high-priority invasive species and pests like the bark beetle infestations ravaging Colorado and creating deadly wildfire hazards.
- I delivered a victory for the San Luis Valley by getting its new weather radar integrated with the National Weather Service’s system. After a year of bureaucratic delays, I stepped in and got the job done.
- I stood up for rural healthcare and helped Delta Health secure Sole Community Hospital Provider Status. This designation has helped stabilize drug prices, allowed Delta Health to remain independent, and secured more healthcare infrastructure for the community.
- When the Biden bureaucracy tried to move the Bureau of Land Management headquarters in Grand Junction back to the Swamp, I led a public pressure campaign that kept the Western Headquarters, 56 Headquarter jobs, and 70 other good-paying Bureau of Land Management jobs in Grand Junction.
- I cosponsored and voted for legislation that passed the House to stop the Bureau of Land Management's so-called “Conservation Rule” Land Grab.
- I passed three amendments to the Strategic Production Response Act through the House of Representatives to help reduce gas prices, increase American energy production, and protect Colorado energy jobs.
- In multiple legislative provisions signed into law, I secured $48.72 million for the Indian Irrigation Fund to address the deferred maintenance backlog and increase water storage projects like the Southern Utes’ Pine River Indian Irrigation Project.
- I secured important federal resources for NASA and Colorado’s space program into law including $5.2 billion for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Space Launch System (SLS), $2.74 billion for the Orion Multi‐Purpose Crew Vehicle, and $590 million for Exploration Ground Systems. Colorado is home to the nation’s second-largest aerospace economy that supports more than 232,000 jobs.

- I voted for and passed legislation to impeach United States Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, for orchestrating the worst border crisis in American history.
- I passed an amendment through the House blocking federal funds from going to Sanctuary Cities.
- I cosponsored and passed legislation to deport Laken Riley's Murderer.
- I secured $703 million into federal law for counter-narcotics support, including an additional $50 million for programs to counter illicit fentanyl and synthetic opioids.
- I secured $306 million into federal law for the national guard counter-drug program.
- I cosponsored and passed the strongest border security bill ever in the form of H.R. 2.
- I made history by becoming the first Republican in 24 years to successfully initiate Impeachment proceedings on the House floor against Joe Biden for his dereliction of duty at the Southern Border.
- I received national recognition and support from conservatives for my role in fixing the rules of the House of Representatives through the 2023 Speaker of the House nomination battle with Rep. Matt Gaetz.
- I voted to support the troops and for the largest military pay raise in 20 years.
- I voted to increase veterans’ benefits by over $1.5 billion.
- I passed an amendment through the House that slashed funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by $3.61 billion for NIH's corruption, tyranny, and role in the COVID-19 pandemic.
- I passed an appropriations request through the House that cut spending at the the Internal Revenue Service by $1 billion.
- I passed an appropriations rider through the House that prohibited funding for Nancy Pelosi’s Presidio Trust and also rescinded $200 million for this wasteful and unnecessary San Francisco earmark.
- In multiple legislative provisions signed into law, I secured $800 million for the Charter Schools.
- In multiple legislative provisions signed into law, I secured $160 million to fund the Iron Dome, the air defense system of our key national security ally, Israel.
- In multiple legislative provisions signed into law, I secured $160 million into federal law to fund the Arrow Weapon System, the missile defense system of our key national security ally, Israel.
- I passed an amendment through the House that prohibited bonuses for senior executive service employees at the Internal Revenue Service.
- I passed an amendment through the House with bipartisan support, which prohibits the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration from taking any action to finalize the Biden Administration’s burdensome and land-grabbing Endangered Species Act rules.
- When the Biden Regime announced a new, unconstitutional Disinformation Governance Board to censor conservatives and silence free speech, I introduced legislation and led a successful pressure campaign that resulted in new Truth Czar Nina Jankowicz resigning and this unconstitutional board being abolished.
- I cosponsored and voted for multiple pieces of legislation that passed the House to prevent the IRS from hiring 87,000 new agents to snoop on your bank account.
- I voted for legislation that passed the House to protect ranchers and farmers from Biden's unconstitutional WOTUS Rule, a land and water grab that seeks to assert Clean Water Act and expand Washington bureaucrats federal jurisdiction over areas with even the slightest connection to water resources.
- I put America first by introducing a bill and leading a successful pressure campaign that resulted in the Biden administration dropping its plan to give illegal immigrants separated at the border $450,000 checks while simultaneously firing Border Patrol agents.
- I secured $7 million into federal law for the Farm Service Agency’s Grassroots Source Water Protection Program.
- I cosponsored legislation that passed the House to protect millions of veterans and gun owners by nullifying the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' unconstitutional pistol brace ban rule.
- I filed an amicus brief defending the Second Amendment in the Supreme Court case of New York Pistol and Rifle Association v. Bruen. The Court ultimately agreed and struck down unconstitutional may-issue concealed carry licensing regimes.
- When the Biden administration canceled important services for our veterans visiting their national memorials, I helped secure an important victory that resulted in Honor Flight services resuming for our nation's heroes.
- I secured funding for 80 F-35 aircrafts into law. In Colorado, the F-35 program supports 1,840 jobs annually and injects $226.8 million dollars into the state economy.
- I fought to protect the Second Amendment and got red flag laws, provisions to draft our daughters, and other woke provisions removed from the National Defense Authorization Act. My changes to the bill were ultimately signed into law.
- I worked to get important pro-life protections, including the Hyde and Weldon Amendments, signed into law. These provisions prohibit taxpayer dollars from funding abortions and protect doctors, nurses, and healthcare providers from being forced to provide abortions against their consciences.

Since day one, my office has been busy helping constituents who aren’t getting answers from federal agencies, like veterans seeking to get the care they earned from the VA, travelers that need expedited assistance to receive a passport on short notice, taxpayers being harassed by the IRS, and senior citizens having issues with the Social Security Administration or Medicare. My office has hosted over office has hosted over 270 mobile office hours in every county in the district, helped over 3,026 people, and returned over $6,313,680.23 to constituents.
