While 9/11 was a day of unspeakable tragedy, we also saw unparalleled heroism, with firefighters and police officers running towards danger. On 9/11, we were attacked, and instead of letting the fear polarize our country, we came together with record-breaking numbers of Americans volunteering to give blood, and with thousands of Americans stepping forward to serve our country in our Armed Forces.
