REP. LAUREN BOEBERT WELCOMES U.S. SECRETARY OF EDUCATION LINDA MCMAHON TO COLORADO’S 4TH DISTRICT TO HIGHLIGHT THE IMPORTANCE OF CLASSICAL SCHOOLS

August 27, 2026

LONE TREE, CO — U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert (CO-04) today greeted U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon upon her arrival in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District as the Secretary began a tour of classical academies, including Ascent Classical Academy and John Adams Classical Academy.

“I’m thrilled to have welcomed Secretary McMahon to Colorado’s 4th District to highlight classical education and lead a conversation about what is important here in Colorado on school choice,” said Rep. Lauren Boebert. “Classical education and real school choice are giving our kids the rigorous, values-based foundation they deserve. It was an honor to have the Secretary in the 4th District engaged with teachers, administrators, parents, and students as we discussed how we can expand opportunity for every Colorado family.”

The visit underscored Rep. Boebert’s longstanding education priorities and strong support for school choice, so that a student’s academic success is not limited by their zip code. She has consistently championed parental rights in education decisions and classical models that emphasize rigorous academics, math, science, and values-based instruction over ideology.

As a mother and grandmother, Rep. Boebert has long advocated that parents know better than bureaucrats what is best for their children and that education is best handled at the state, local, and family levels.
