Holding Twitter Executives Accountable for Censorship
At a House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing, former Twitter executives testified under oath that they had frequent meetings with the FBI regarding censorship. Disturbingly, their testimony established that the FBI even requested to have back door access into Twitter’s data feed, revealing personal information about users without requesting a warrant or going through proper legal channels.
The FBI colluded with big tech to such a degree that it is nearly impossible to tell where the FBI stopped and Twitter began.
As a Member on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, I am working hard to uncover the truth and hold the FBI and big tech accountable for colluding together to censor Americans.
POLL: Should Congress Hold Big Tech Accountable?
Amendment Holding the CDC Accountable Passes the House with Strong Bipartisan Support
My amendment requiring the CDC to report on the number of international passengers denied entry into the United States due to Biden’s draconian vaccine mandate passed the House of Representatives with strong bipartisan support and 38 Democrats voting in favor of it.
The unnecessary CDC vaccine travel mandate has made everyday life so much harder for many people: from tearing apart family reunifications to discouraging companies from doing business with America. I have heard from so many people who have been hurt by this mandate, including: the mother of a Dutch tourist who died on the Appalachian trail who was unable to come to the United States to collect her son’s body; a Canadian man who has been unable to visit his fiancée on American soil for the past three years; a man working for a company in the United Kingdom who has been unable to travel to the United States for business meetings; and a family in New Hampshire with Canadian in-laws who have been unable to have Canadian family members visit for Christmas in the United States since COVID started.
Enough is enough. This draconian mandate puts America out of step with the rest of the civilized world. Other than a few countries controlled by dictators, the United States is the only country left that is imposing this unscientific and immoral COVID vaccine mandate on our legal visitors.
My commonsense amendment to require the CDC to be transparent about how many passengers have been denied entry into the U.S. passed the House 253-168.
Reducing Gas Prices and Cutting Red Tape With the American Energy Act
The Biden administration is colluding with Green New Deal extremists to slow down energy leasing, clog up the bureaucratic pipeline, and threaten American energy producers with frivolous lawsuits.
I introduced the American Energy Act to cut red tape and unleash American energy by reducing unnecessary paperwork and by prohibiting activist judges from unilaterally vacating valid energy leases. In short, H.R. 1067 will help reduce gas prices by providing certainty for responsible energy production and preventing baseless litigation.
With the price at the pump skyrocketing and the international energy market destabilizing, the world needs dependable American energy now more than ever.
Protecting Free Speech With the ELON Act
The Twitter files exposed the collusion between Big Tech and the Department of Justice. During the 2020 election, the DOJ paid Twitter $3,415,323.00 between October 2019 and February 2021. Later, the FBI confirmed that Twitter isn’t the only social media company that was on their payroll. Twitter Owner and CEO Elon Musk later said that this money was the “government [paying] Twitter millions of dollars to censor info from the public.”
The FBI’s practice of paying big tech companies to censor information is deeply concerning, especially when we know that they were working overtime to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop from hell story as so-called “Russian disinformation.”
It is time to hold big tech accountable, so I introduced the “Exposing Lewd Outlays for social Networking companies Act,” or the “ELON Act,” to audit government collusion with big tech to censor Americans. The ELON Act requires the Comptroller General of the United States to audit all payments made by the Department of Justice to big tech companies and places a one-year moratorium on any payments going from the FBI to big tech companies until Congress gets to the bottom of this scandal.
Cutting-Edge Innovation at Colorado Mesa University
Last week, I visited the Colorado Mesa University geothermal heating and cooling plant with President John Marshall and Mesa County Commissioner Janet Rowland. The system has seven well fields, 171,000 feet of pipe, and is capable of storing energy for future heating and cooling needs. I was very impressed, and I am committed to supporting their efforts. I’m excited to support the innovation happening at CMU that will benefit our region, state, and the entire country. American ingenuity, not overregulation, is how we’ll secure America’s energy future!

Working to Improve Transportation Safety
Our nation is facing major problems in the transportation sector. We’ve seen multiple train derailments, intrusions into our airspace, and massive flight cancelations. I met with the air traffic controllers at the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport to hear practical solutions to keeping Colorado transportation, and especially our skies, safe. I’m excited to assist in the improvements and modernizations at the airport!

Addressing Issues Facing Rural Colorado Small Businesses
I met with the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce to discuss some of the biggest issues facing rural Colorado businesses. I-70 closures, water scarcity, and massive inflation have created serious challenges for businesses on the Western Slope. I’ve introduced legislation to tackle these issues, and I’ll continue to boldly represent small business owners in Congress.

Putting our Public Lands to Work Benefiting Mesa County
I recently joined the Bureau of Land Management to discuss the Clifton parcel. Mesa County has been waiting more than five years for federal agencies to sell them a parcel of land that federal agencies claim they no longer need and want to sell. We are finally making some good progress! I’ll continue to keep you updated as we work with local officials and federal agencies to secure that land for the county!
