Legislative Lineup

My team and I have wasted no time engaging in the legislative process. I’m proud to have introduced 4 bills and cosponsored 45 other pieces of legislation. I’d like to highlight just a few of the important legislative items we’ve already tackled

HR 859, Protecting American Energy Jobs Act

On February 6th, I introduced the Protecting American Energy Jobs Act. The bill would repeal President Biden's job-killing executive mandates, ensure reliable and affordable energy supplies for future generations, and foster economic growth and job creation in rural communities. I’m honored that this piece of legislation has received the support of 23 of my colleagues in the House and more than 30 local and national organizations. Read more here

Standing for Life

One of the promises I made to voters was to always stand for unborn children. During my first month in office, I cosponsored 12 pieces of prolife legislation including the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, the Life at Conception Act, and the Defund Planned Parenthood Act. On the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, I spoke on the House floor about the importance of this issue and told a personal story. You can watch those remarks here

Fight for the BLM

In 2019, President Trump’s administration made the transformative decision to move the Bureau of Land Management’s Headquarters to Grand Junction. This made sense for a wide variety of reasons including placing decision makers closer to those they effect, saving taxpayers millions of dollars, and providing greater accessibility to the Bureau of Land Management for citizens. On Monday, I joined U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper, Colorado Governor Jared Polis and local community leaders for a biprtisan roundtable on this issue. I will continue to work in a bipartisan way with local, state, and federal leaders to keep and grow the Bureau of Land Management Headquarters in Grand Junction.

Hearing from Home

There’s nothing like returning home to meet with the people of the Third Congressional District. This past week, I spoke with small business owners and discussed the challenges they are facing. Their main concern: the government keeps getting in the way. One such instance was my meeting with Mike Pacheco who owns Papa Jose’s Union Café in Pueblo. He, like many in the food industry, has been hurt by workers purposefully remaining unemployed in order to receive increased unemployment checks. Government should never incentivize unemployment, and I assured him I understood the issue and would fight for small business.

On Tuesday, the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee's Subcommittee on Congressman Doug Lamborn joined me for a tour of the Pueblo Chemical Depot. The Depot is an important employer for Pueblo supporting more than 1,500 direct jobs. The Pueblo Chemical Depot also plays a critical role in fulfilling international treaty obligations. I want to thank Colonel Cobb for the tour and his leadership for the Depot and our community.

Boebert on the Border

In January, I joined U.S. Representatives Warren Davidson, Bob Gibbs, Andrew Clyde, Matt Rosendale, Bob Good, Glenn Grothman, and Barry Moore on a tour of the United State-Mexico border. The congressional delegation, hosted by House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Biggs, visited Sasabe, Nogales, and Sierra Vista. While on the tour, Rep. Boebert met with Border Patrol, customs officials, other local law enforcement, and the mom of a police officer killed by an illegal alien.

I want to thank Chairman Biggs and his entire team for getting boots on the ground so my colleagues and I could see these issues firsthand and the urgency of securing our southern border. Under President Trump’s leadership, illegal immigration was the lowest it had been in 17 years. The Trump administration achieved this success because they understood the actual problems and addressed them. So far under President Biden, the only actions he has taken regarding immigration involve amnesty and implementing a ban on using the term ‘illegal alien.’ It’s almost laughable, but what won’t be a laughing matter is the increase of illegal drugs, violence and human trafficking that will result from Biden’s amnesty policies and his unwillingness to secure the border.
