REP. BOEBERT BACKS WHITE HOUSE RESCISSION TARGETING WASTEFUL SPENDING ON CRIMINAL ALIENS

LONE TREE, COLO. — Rep. Lauren Boebert (CO-04) announced her support for the White House decision to cancel roughly $810 million in previously appropriated spending through a pocket rescission. The package includes a $567 million cut to Department of Health and Human Services programs for criminal aliens, as well as cuts to international assistance, including foreign debt relief, and other agencies. 

“This is America First in action,” Rep. Boebert said. “The Trump Administration is cutting wasteful spending that does not benefit American citizens. Hardworking taxpayers should not be forced to bankroll health and social services for people who broke our laws.”

“Federal health dollars are not an open invitation,” Rep. Boebert said. “When Washington subsidizes care and services for criminal aliens, it rewards lawbreaking and leaves less for American families, seniors, veterans, and rural hospitals. Reducing that spending is common sense.”

“These are the types of policies needed to ensure future funds go to rural hospitals,” Rep. Boebert said. “Colorado’s rural communities cannot keep emergency rooms, maternity wards, and clinics open if federal health money is treated as a magnet for illegal immigration.”
